This has gotten out of hand. When we rolled out the guest lists for the Crown Royal and Ciroc private events during FAMU’s Homecoming, we instituted a policy of only allowing people to attend one event. Young alums could RSVP for both events (as a backup plan), but party like a rockstar at one. The backlash to this policy has gotten out of hand.
My response: get over it and stop being selfish.
These events are for 500 guests, but many want to horde all of the fun to themselves. We can’t have the same 500 people at every young alumni event. It limits the effectiveness of what we’re trying to build with the Young Alumni Movement. Seriously, let others have an awesome time. It’s not the end of the world if you can’t go to both parties.
Jeez, people.

This is what happens when you create funky fresh Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious concept that consumers just cant get enough of … blame yourself for coming up with these outrageously exclusive events fused with cutting-edge ideas. HMPH! (Sort of like when KFC gave away all that free chicken this spring … only you haven’t nearly bit off more than you can chew like they did)
That coupled with the fact that Tallahassee and our beloved Alma Mater is not providing much for Alumni or students to do this year, people are looking for something to do.
In all seriousness: Going out is easy. Knowing where to go, isn’t. 😛
