Solving the problem of low HBCU alumni engagement
Reducing the risk of African-American entrepreneur failure by exposing them to the Lean Startup Methodology

But I’m really beginning to think it is a lost cause because it seems:

HBCUs and their alumni associations leadership don’t really want to change despite their public wishes
Many African-American entrepreneurs are too concerned with social status (appearance of success) vs. solving real problems (how you actually attain success)

I agree w/you on the HBCU alum part but like it has been said before “WE (not just you) have to be the change we belive in. We also have to understand that being an owner of a business is not about status but actually about OWNERSHIP. The glits and glamour only come after years of hardwork. They see the Russell Simmons, diddy, jayz, of the world w/their success but don’t see the HARDWORK and dedication to get there and that’s the disconnect.
