Earlier today, I received what is quite possibly the best “I can’t make it to your event” email ever. Being turned down never felt so good. It is refreshing when someone thinks of others (in this case, some lucky person gets to be placed on the guest list). Others should take note.

I requested RSVP for events for the weekend. I am currently in the middle of 2 very important contracts for my company. I would hate for the RSVP to go to waste. I hope this does not inconvenience you in any way. I sincerely apologize for such short notice. Your events are typically a way of taking a break from my chaotic schedule, but this is something that i have to finish before the holidays.
Once again,please accept my apology and i am sure the events you have lined up will be a smashing success. I have already taken care of my partners in crime so no need to worry. I will look out for events for the new year…Cheers!
